We are excited to share our children's spaceman sweatshirt! Rendered in a gorgeous chalky white against a grey base, the design features an astronaut clinging to a hand-drawn planet with a Saturn-like ring, sprinkled with stars. This fit is of course our signature boxy shape with relaxed shoulders.

This sweatshirt has been a hit with boys and girls and pairs nicely with our elasticated chinos. But of course, this looks just as fab with our ribbed leggings and shorts. The sweatshirt is made from 310gsm French terry using GOTS certified 100% organic cotton.

Check out our kids ribbed organic shorts in dusty pink, slate blue and oat. The simple design, with rolled up hems sewn into place, means that you can easily match these shorts with a variety of different tops. The shorts are made from 270gsm organic ribbed jersey cotton.

The design brief was to create a versatile pair of shorts that could be worn on the playground or with a parent when popping into town. From a technical perspective, we used a 40mm elastic waistband and sewed this in place for a nice fitted finish. The jersey rib fabric was chosen because it has enough give to ensure they’re comfortable when playing sports.

When creating our collections, we will make a concerted effort to ensure they are not gender specific. The colours we use are intended to be neutral, and you can see Theo looking dapper in his dusty pink shorts.

This sweatshirt has a gorgeous design, and we spent a considerable amount of time rearranging the moons and deliberating over the colours. But once we as a design team were happy, the real difficulty was choosing the right fabric and weight. We agreed French terry cotton was the one as it’s incredibly soft and has a high-quality feel.

We also needed to find the ideal weight, which is measured in gsm (grams per square metre). This sweatshirt will be in the range of 310gsm to 320gsm which gives it the right balance for a child’s garment, while still letting them move freely.
